Photographic philosophy: I strive to portray people as who they are and not just what they looked like when the shutter is released. This philosophy carries over to all of my photographic interests whether shooting a bride on her wedding day, landscapes, wildlife or our underwater denizens, the goal is to tell a story with my pictures.

History: I have been taking photographs since 1985 when I bought my first 35mm SLR camera, ahh...the days of film. Later that same year I became a certified scuba diver and took a borrowed underwater camera on my first dive in Monterey Bay. My desire to shoot underwater was fueled by the need to share with others what lies beneath the ocean's surface off the coast of California. Some of the projects I have worked on include collecting rock samples for the US Geological Survey in the waters around the Farallon Islands, Photographing a little known underwater oasis 3 miles off Pt. Sur in Central California and capturing the beauty and power of Great white sharks.

Over the last several years I have branched out and now offer wedding photography services with another photographer, Craig Lockett. Craig is an award winning photographer from Napa, CA. It is truly an honor and joy to tell the story through photographs of such a wonderful event in a couples life. I continue to pursue personal projects from shooting wildlife in Annadel State Park-CA, marine life from Hawaii's reef fish to the majestic Great white shark. I am currently a member of the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International and National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I am a regular participant in several photographic groups with the goal of growing my imaging skills. So what do I do when not taking photographs? I work as a professional firefighter and truly enjoy helping people. Santa Rosa has been home for the last 17 years with my wife (high school sweetheart) and our two wonderful boys.
